The Members Assemble will take place from 16:00-16:15. Guests are welcome to attend.
It is followed by the talk on Technology Assessment for Quantum Technologies: Is it too early to prepare for social impact of quantum technolgies?
Abstract: This session aims at exploring the question of is it too early to prepare for social impact of quantum technolgies as an emerging set of technologies. There is the established concept of Collingridge dilemma in the field of technology assessment, which argues that the possibility of social control on the trajectory of a technology is highest in earlier stages while the evidence of social impact is non-existent. Yet, this possibility degrades in time while simultaneously evidence of social impact accumulates. This talk will introduce technology assessment as a field, our work at KIT ITAS directed towards technology assessment for quantum technolgies, and focus on how these relate to the development and current discussions on quantum technolgies for researchers in the field..
Afterwards, you can stay for some Bier and Brezteln (Limo and Laugenkastanien)
